KeyCadence sends your license key and KeyCadence's product ID to one service, Gumroad: when you click Activate, and about every 14 days after that. Nothing else leaves your computer.
KeyCadence is published by Kiloton Labs.
What KeyCadence stores
- Your settings and recorded macros are saved only on your computer in
settings.jsonin%LOCALAPPDATA%\KeyCadence. We never receive them. - With Pro,
settings.jsonalso holds your license key, the purchase email and the date of the last license check.
What KeyCadence sends
- Nothing during normal use: no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking.
- When you click Activate: the app sends your license key, with KeyCadence's product ID, to Gumroad's license API. Gumroad answers whether the key is valid and returns the purchase email. The first activation also asks Gumroad to count one use of the key.
- About every 14 days, when you're online: the same check runs again in the background to confirm the license hasn't been refunded or disabled. If there is no connection, nothing happens and Pro keeps working.
- See Gumroad's privacy policy for how they handle these requests.
What we receive when you get KeyCadence from Gumroad
This covers free downloads and Pro purchases. As with every Gumroad order, free or paid, Gumroad shares your email address and country with us, plus any name you enter at checkout. We use them only to deliver and support KeyCadence and your license, handle refunds, and keep sales records. We do not sell them. For Pro, Gumroad processes the payment; card and payment details stay with Gumroad and never reach us.
