This Agreement is between you and Kiloton Labs ("we", "us") for the KeyCadence builds we distribute ("Software"). By installing or using the Software you agree to it. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

1. License

  • Free: a non-exclusive license for you to use the Free features at no charge, including at work.
  • Pro: buying a KeyCadence Pro license grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Pro features, including at work, on up to 3 of your PCs. Your license key is for your own use. Don't share or publish it. We may disable a key that is shared publicly.
  • Source code: if we publish the KeyCadence source code, it is licensed under PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0. That license covers the source code only. The builds we distribute are covered by this Agreement.

2. Acceptable use

KeyCadence automates keyboard and mouse input on your own computer. You are solely responsible for how you use it. In particular:

  • Do not use it to break the terms of service of any website, game or platform, for example by automating chat or actions where that is prohibited.
  • Do not use it for any unlawful purpose.

KeyCadence is a general automation utility. We do not endorse or support any use that breaks a third party's rules.

3. No warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

4. Limitation of liability

Automation can take unintended actions, for example clicking the wrong control or deleting data. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, DATA LOSS, OR LOSSES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE. You use it at your own risk.

Nothing in this Agreement limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

5. Refunds

You can get a full refund within 7 days of buying KeyCadence Pro. If you bought from the EU or the UK, you have 14 days. Email support@kilotonlabs.com or reply to your Gumroad receipt, and include the email you bought with. Refunds are paid through Gumroad, our storefront.

A refunded license stops working the next time KeyCadence checks it with Gumroad (about every 14 days when the PC is online).

6. Updates and changes

We may update the Software and this Agreement. Changes apply to versions released after the change.

7. Support

For bugs, license-key problems or questions, email support@kilotonlabs.com. Pro buyers can also reply to their Gumroad receipt.

8. Third-party software

KeyCadence includes open-source components, listed with their licenses in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt and the licenses folder next to KeyCadence.exe. Their authors license them to you under those licenses, not under this Agreement, and nothing in this Agreement limits your rights under them. In particular, you may modify or replace the LGPL-licensed libraries (Qt, PySide6, Shiboken6 and pynput) and reverse engineer KeyCadence as far as needed to debug such changes. The Microsoft runtime files included with KeyCadence are Microsoft redistributable code; use them only as part of KeyCadence.
